Micropayments, Paupers & You
Jon Rosenberg posted a pretty well thought-out perspective on using micropayments to make a living off of webcomics today on goats.com. There’s a lot to read, the gist of which is that he found it to be unprofitable for someone who primarily relies on merchandise in order to survive. Most of us Dumbrellists make our meager livings via t-shirts, books and the like as opposed to charging for content. It’s a very worthwhile read which references much of the brouhaha that went down last week between Penny-Arcade & Scott McCloud.
