Comicon 2008: Dumbrella’s Flawless Victory
The San Diego Comicon has come and gone-i-con again, leaving a trail of destruction in its wake. Here’s the Dumbrella highlights:
Webcomics Single Malt Summit 2008 wound up being amazing. Not only did we get half our industry in one room, two of our favorite Star Trek actors were randomly in the bar and took over the piano.
Jon Rosenberg’s book deal to publish Goats under Random House’s Villard imprint is official. Our longest-running cartoonist is going to be in major bookstores starting next year.
Meredith launched the hell out of Octopus Pie Volume 2, which went on sale online today. She’s hand-sparkling Hanna’s butt if you order in time. She also rocked out Cat Lady Pride shirts.
Rstevens (me) sold a ton of socks and spoke to Wired about ending Diesel Sweeties in newspapers.
Andrew von Bell debuted his newest vinyl and sold an insane amount of stickers and shirts.
Sam Brown was a print-selling machine. Go check out his iphone and ipod skins.
Chris Yates cornered the market on bad-ass puzzles and poop signs.
We were also joined by MC Frontalot, Wil Wheaton and Scott McCloud. It was a nerdcore, geek pride super-analytical cloud of brilliance.
